So, thanks to Jake and William, I have relocated my library from downstairs (where I rarely used it) to upstairs. The shelves are spread across the computer room and my bedroom, with one shelf of my children's books (Nancy Drew, Baby Sitters' Club, and Trixie Belden to name a few) taking up space in the guest bedroom.
All the books I currently read went on the two shelves in my bedroom. Maybe not the most brilliant of ideas cause I think I got maybe 3 hours of sleep due to "oooh, I haven't read this in forever! *readreadread* Oooh! I haven't read this in a while! *readreadread*".
Also, I have discovered that at some point during the time I started hoarding books upstairs instead of putting them on the shelves in their proper locations...I filled up my bookshelves. *sigh* Now I need to borrow a boy and a truck and go get more. Luckily, Staples still has my shelves (they are good sellers, thankfully, so I don't think I need to worry about them disappearing any time soon), so I can get 2 more 5-shelf bookshelves to put up. Maybe those will last me a year or so. *crosses fingers*
You should custom-build your next house and every wall should be a floor-to-ceiling bookshelf. It would save a lot of money in the long run.
